The first move: Arguing & Siblings
"Everything becomes a debate — and the kids go at each other."
The standard
After I answer, the conversation is done. With each other: hands to yourself, and stop means stop.
Say this
Backtalk — "You're free to be upset. Respect still stands. Asked and answered."
Siblings — "Hands to yourself. Safety standard. No debate."
When they push
Don't rule on who started it — “You two are on the same team. Solve it, or you both step back from the shared activity.”
Your 24-hour plan
- 1Pick ONE line (start with Safety). Announce it once.
- 2State the standard, separate if needed, require a repair.
- 3Same standard tomorrow — repair required before anyone moves on.
This is the exact leadership your kids build on our mat — the same words at home, at school, and in class.
